Present in Spirit – Art Fair in Milan, 2023
Some journeys are not taken with the feet, but with the heart. That’s how it was in 2023, when my work was exhibited at an international art fair in Milan – even though I couldn’t be there in person due to illness. While my body stayed behind, my spirit traveled with my art, and I felt deeply connected to this moment from afar.
Milan, with its elegance and energy, welcomed my work with open arms. Thanks to the thoughtful and professional organization by Monat Gallery, I knew that my pieces were in good hands. It was a unique and humbling experience to let my art go on without me – to trust that it would find its place and speak for itself.
Despite the physical distance, I felt immense pride and gratitude. Knowing that my paintings were part of an international exhibition – surrounded by artists from all over the world – filled me with quiet joy. I imagined people in Milan pausing, looking, feeling something in front of my work. That thought alone was a gift.
This experience reminded me that art has its own way of moving through the world. It connects, it speaks, it travels – even when we cannot. And sometimes, it’s in those quiet, unseen moments that our creations shine the brightest.
